So we read a work of science fiction, one of the best in fact, and now we are ready for a new literature unit. What do you want to read and why? Should we stay with sci-fi? With Ender? Or branch out into historical fiction, non-fiction, mythology, short stories...the possibilities are endless.
You need to post what you would like to read and why by Wednesday, February 3, 2010, so we can get the books and start reading.
Choose a novel or type you will enjoy reading and something you think the class will enjoy reading.

ReplyDeletealright, after looking for many novels that are as Yaakov said adventure page turners i thought of maybe sticking to the Ender's Game series. I feel like our entire class very much enjoyed Enders Game and therefore i picked the novel Speaker For The Dead, by Orson Scott. I hope my fellow classmate will stick to the book I picked.
ReplyDeleteAs someone who has read speaker for the dead and several other books in the series, in my opinion I think we should read enders shadow. Because the second half of the book overlaps with enders game, we will be able to see battle school and behind the seens of enders time there through the eyes of another student,bean. Also in my opinion with speaker for the dead, unless we zip through the book really fast soon enough, with all the slow parts the class will be very frustrated and it will be hard to make it through the book. Also since ender is a adult and there are very few kids in my opinion it makes the book not as interesting. In speaker for the dead ender is slower and is not as exciting as he was in enders game. so in my opinion we should read enders shadow.
ReplyDeleteI personally like to read science fiction because it puts me in another world and makes me think more and have more fun. In non science fiction its life that you are used to everyday. But I also like war books. Hitch hikers guide to the galaxy looks good, by douglas adams. The time machiene looks great also! Heres the site with 100 top scifi books of all time enjoy!
